CANEA Insight is intentionally built as a standalone add-on module that does not affect the core product CANEA ONE. Data is retrieved via the CANEA Open API based on defined views and stored in a separate database. This means that only selected and controlled information is used - and that data flows and access can be managed according to your requirements.

What is CANEA Insight?

An AI-based add-on feature for CANEA ONE that makes it possible to ask questions about the organization’s documentation and receive summarized answers with source references.

How does CANEA Insight differ from regular document search?

Traditional document search provides a list of results. CANEA Insight analyzes and summarizes the information in a single answer - and shows which documents the answer is based on.

Can you control which documents are included?

Yes. The organization decides which documents or information areas are to be used as the knowledge source.

Can you ask follow-up questions?

Yes. CANEA Insight is dialogue-based - you can explore further by asking follow-up questions, just like in a conversation.

Can CANEA Insight be accessed outside of CANEA ONE?

Yes. CANEA Insight can be used directly in CANEA ONE, on your mobile device, or through an external web window - which can be published, for example, on your intranet or made available to customers and partners who do not have access to CANEA ONE.

What is RAG?

RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) means that the AI first retrieves relevant information from the documentation and then formulates an answer, instead of generating answers from general training data.

Is CANEA Insight optional?

Yes. CANEA Insight is an add-on module that can be activated or deactivated without affecting other functions in CANEA ONE.

Is there an admin interface?

Yes. Administrators can monitor usage and statistics, see which questions are being asked, access quality metrics such as average ratings and feedback, and manage configuration and settings.

Technology and security

Does the AI make up answers?

CANEA Insight responds based on the organization’s documentation. If relevant information is missing, the system refrains from answering. All answers include source references for verification.

Can you configure which data CANEA Insight can access?

Yes. The organization can restrict and configure which information areas CANEA Insight should have access to - for example, by department, document type, or process. Data is retrieved via the CANEA Open API based on defined views.

How do permissions work in CANEA Insight?

Access is managed via login to each respective Insight site. The content configured for an Insight site is available to everyone who logs in to it. If different target groups need access to different content, multiple Insight instances can be set up, where each instance is based on its own configured selection of documents.

Does CANEA Insight use external AI providers?

Yes. CANEA Insight uses an external language model, typically Azure OpenAI, to interpret questions and formulate summarized answers based on your document content. Region, data storage, and terms are governed by the customer's agreement with the chosen AI provider. Your documents, questions, and answers are not used to train the AI model.

Where is the organization's data stored?

Data is stored in a separate database within the technical environment where the solution is installed. CANEA Insight is built as a standalone add-on module that does not affect the core product CANEA ONE.

Which deployment models does CANEA Insight support?

CANEA Insight is currently compatible with on-premise and hosting (traditional hosting). The SaaS model is not supported at this time.
