Kinnarps reorganises its IT support

Kinnarps needed to make projects visual for all stakeholders and so implemented CANEA Project – a complete solution for effective project and portfolio management.

Background

Kinnarps AB is an international furniture company with its headquarters in Västergötland, Sweden, with a total of 2,500 employees. Kinnarps provides comprehensive solutions for furnishing offices and public environments. Kinnarps is today the second largest manufacturer of office furniture in Europe; it has sales operations in some 40 countries and a turnover of approx. MSEK 4000. The company has seven production facilities in Sweden and Germany. It was, among other things, the geographical distribution that was the reason why a system that could provide better project overview was required.

Tomas Ekström, Quality and Environment Manager, who is also responsible for project methodology at Kinnarps, explains: We were immediately convinced when we looked at CANEA Project. Five sites are involved in Kinnarps’ product development projects and we needed to visualise the projects for everyone involved. We realised that this system would help us. What I was really attracted to was the combination of power and simplicity.
