Consultancy services within Management Systems
An organisation has at its disposal several tools and methods for steering and guiding the business with the aim of executing the agreed strategy and achieving shared goals. These can be both structural in character and function through the existing organisational culture. These tools are gathered together in a management system to provide effective support and guidance for the business.
What is a management system?
Each organisation has several interested parties that make demands on the organisation's behaviour regarding different issues. These interested parties consist of everything from customers and employees to shareholders, regulators, creditors, interest groups and citizens. To manage these demands and at the same time to act in a competitive market is a challenge for all companies. A management system, also called an operational system, is the highest management tool for ensuring that the business is run according to established guidelines. At the same time, the system constitutes a support for all employees in their daily work.
Working actively, for example, with quality, environment, occupational health and safety, and social responsibility is a powerful and necessary tool for creating an attractive company both from the point of view of the customer and the employee. A company that functions well and is attractive to its customers naturally increases its opportunities for long-term profitability. On the other hand, the consequences for those companies that are unsuccessful are very painful and take a long time to recover from.
Work with management systems often takes its starting point and support from standards and legal requirements.
- ISO 9001 (quality)
- ISO 14001 (environment)
- AFS 2001:1 and OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety)
- ISO 26000 (social responsibility)
- ISO/TS 16949 (vehicles)
- ISO 13485 (medical technology)
- AS 9100 (aerospace)
- ISO 22000 (food safety)

Effects of a well-functioning management system
The positive effects that can be expected following the implementation of a well-functioning management system are many. These include improved quality, competitiveness and cost-effectiveness, reduced environmental impact, increased employee satisfaction and reduced sickness absence, together with an improved image and credibility.
For quality management systems, an operational system that fulfils the requirements of ISO 9001, several studies have shown that there is a link between certification and higher profitability together with a higher business value. Even for management systems within other areas, the effects are clear as the systems give the management better tools for control and review.
CANEA's offer
CANEA consultants are experts in the introduction and development of management systems, and in the implementation of the relevant business analyses for assessing needs and the scope of such projects. Our experience covers the whole process from initiation and training of management groups to the design and implementation of the system and audit thereof.
In many cases there is already a management system in place, but the system does not provide support for the business, which is the aim of a well-functioning system. For these organisations, CANEA can provide help with the development of the management system and in realising the potential it contains. During the project we work closely with the customer to ensure that the management system is adapted to the organisation's needs and that there is a shared view of the management system within both the management and the organisation as a whole. These are critical factors for a successful implementation.
